Keratin Treatments are a gift for dull and frizzy hair, which is usually due to the breakdown of the keratin protein in the hair shaft. A keratin treatment adds layers of synthetic keratin to the hair shaft to make it straight, shiny, and smooth.

A keratin smoothing treatment is a great solution for preserving and building strength in bleached or damaged hair. However, for severely damaged or broken hair, we recommend essential oil hair therapy and removing your ends, where there is little to no moisture, to rehydrate and replenish the hair with vitamins and minerals, all locked in by a layer of moisture from the oil.

We advise against coloring and doing a keratin smoothing treatment on the same day. After smoothing, your hair can be more fragile and may not tolerate the color process, resulting in a tone change after the first 48 to 72 hours of leaving the salon. Again, we suggest waiting two weeks between a keratin smoothing treatment and a hair color service.

Keratin smoothing treatments are one the best ways to eliminate frizz in your hair while gaining manageability and a smooth, lustrous shine. This is made of synthetic keratin, which helps to strengthen and prevent damage to your hair. The more frizz and damaged the hair is, the more dramatic the effect of the keratin treatment. We recommend collagen treatments for thin relatively straight hair or to preserve curl integrity.
Remember to stay out of salt or chlorinated water in the first 72 hours after a keratin treatment. Exposure to chlorine and saltwater strips the keratin out of your hair leading to potential hair breakage.
